Good seing you Brian - I took the same picture of the caisson in the shed. You were right, and the river crossing after-party went on longer than I thought, and I didn't make it back to Sharpsburg until aftery you and Craig left.

Brian,

Great post on a great day! Is was really good seeing you, Harry and Craig.

That two-thirds of a limber you encountered at the Roulette Farm is a reproduction from, I believe, the Centennial Days. There was a second one in there that had wheels of 1902 vintage, though that one was taken to another park to have parts salvaged.

Always nice to see you.

Great to finally meet you in person, Brian. And a good day for a hike!

Regarding the 5th MD monument, Robert Moore (Cenantua) offered some more background information on the marker entry (http://www.hmdb.org/marker.asp?marker=17622). The disk disappeared in the 1980s. And there is some confusion as to what the disk depicted.
