Thanks to descendant Mike Shafer for this photograph of Private David Shafer, Company G, 132nd Pennsylvania Infantry (seated, right). David was slightly wounded at Antietam in September 1862. He had later service with the 8th and 16th Pennsylvania Cavalry regiments and mustered out in August 1865.
