This photograph of Private Albert W. Dyer, 13th Massachusetts Infantry is from a c. 1861 sixth-plate tintype from owner Kevin Canberg, published in the Time-Life volume Voices of the Civil War: Antietam (1996).

A clerk from Medford, Dyer was in action at Antietam and Gettysburg, where he was promoted to Sergeant, and he mustered out in August 1864.
