Captain Wesley Fletcher Jones of Company G was one of 6 Jones brothers in the 22nd Georgia Infantry during the war. His brother Robert was their Colonel. Wesley was mortally wounded and captured in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862, and died in a Federal hospital in Baltimore in October.

The photograph of the Jones brothers in uniform was published in Military Images of January-February 1986 and was probably taken between January and June 1862.
