Sgt James F Nosler

Sergeant James Franklin Nosler, Company I, 27th Indiana Infantry was wounded by pieces of shell to his right foot and ankle at Antietam on 17 September 1862. He later served in Company C of the 18th United States Infantry, finally mustering out in June 1865.

His photograph is from Brown’s The Twenty-Seventh Indiana Volunteer Infantry in the War of the Rebellion (1899).
