Private Hiram B. Howard of the 20th Massachusetts Infantry was wounded in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862 and again, mortally, at Gettysburg on 3 July 1863, dying on the 9th.
This carte-de-visite (CDV) of him was sold by Heritage Auctions in 2016.
