Captain William Henry Ramsey of Company E commanded the 57th Virginia Infantry at Sharpsburg as senior officer present. He was Lieutenant Colonel of the regiment at Appomattox Court House on 9 April 1865. His photograph shared on his Findagrave memorial by Cindy Headen.
