Captain Francis Kinloch “Frank” Huger commanded the Norfolk Battery in Maryland in September 1862, was promoted to Major on 2 March 1863, Lieutenant Colonel on 27 February 1864, and Colonel on 18 February 1865. He was captured, reportedly by West Point ’60 classmate George Custer, at Sailor’s Creek, VA on 6 April 1865.
